Job summary

American Cruise Lines seeks experienced Nav Mate Pilots to lead our U.S.-flag fleet. Nav Mates are senior watch officers responsible for safe vessel operations and regulatory adherence aboard our vessels.

This full-time on‑board role requires coastal/river piloting experience and a USCG Master’s license with Near Coastal endorsement; TWIC is required and 1,600 GRT or greater is preferred. Z-drive experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• USCG Master’s license with Near Coastal endorsement; 1,600 GRT or greater preferred.
• TWIC credential required.
• Coastal/river piloting experience: 2+ years, 5+ years preferred.
• Excellent communication and team-building abilities.
• Pre-employment drug testing and ongoing random testing.

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety and security of passengers, crew, and vessel.
• Operate the vessel in compliance with company and regulatory standards.
• Execute prudent maneuvering, docking, locking, and anchoring.
• Conduct daily inspections of all vessel spaces.
• Maintain logs, reports, and administrative records.
• Support hotel and culinary teams in delivering five-star guest service.
