Job summary

The Trader I/II/Sr./Principal at EQT Corporation will manage and optimize a natural gas trading portfolio focused on the US East market. You will leverage market analysis, risk management, and execution of physical and financial trades to drive profitability while complying with risk limits.

You will collaborate with risk, operations, and commercial teams, build regional supply/demand models, and develop strategies to optimize pipeline capacity, storage, and seasonal spreads.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, or related field.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in natural gas trading, scheduling, and origination.
• Strong analytical and quantitative skills with effective verbal and written communication.
• Knowledge of regional pipeline/storage infrastructure and market dynamics.
• Ability to construct a regional supply and demand model and understand pipeline constraints.
• Experience trading physical, futures, swaps, options, storage, index and spreads.
• Willingness to travel up to 10–20% for events and meetings.

Responsibilities

• Initiate, develop and execute strategies to capture profitable term natural gas trading opportunities within the US East region.
• Monitor and evaluate market conditions and pivot in/out of trades as needed.
• Evaluate trading processes and collaborate to improve efficiency and value-added measures.
• Manage storage positions across the US East, optimizing seasonal spreads, and load considerations.
• Develop optimization and trading strategies and direct origination efforts to execute them.
• Communicate summaries of market conditions and opportunities up the chain.
• Establish and execute trading strategies to optimize the value of pipeline capacity and storage assets.
