Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Native Mobile to join the App Infra team. You will lead the transition of Coinbase’s retail mobile app from React Native to native Swift and Kotlin, leveraging AI-assisted code generation to speed delivery and quality for millions of users.

You will own core app surfaces, drive performance across devices, and collaborate with product teams to ensure smooth onboarding and parity during the transition period.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of mobile software engineering experience (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android).
• Ability to build and ship performant mobile apps with focus on frame stability and responsive UI.
• Willingness to develop cross-platform fluency as team owns iOS and Android.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release processes.

Responsibilities

• Accelerate frontend engineers by defining architectural patterns and improving build speeds.
• Own development of core app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin; translate flows from React Native to native.
• Build within AI-assisted code generation loop and validate architecture with native expertise.
• Partner with product teams during onboarding to review native PRs and improve patterns.
• Drive performance optimization across device tiers and reduce loading indicators and jank.
• Support dual-app parity and synchronize features between codebases during transition.
