Job summary

The City of Minneapolis is seeking an experienced finance professional to oversee CPED's accounting, budgeting and reporting functions. This role manages expenditures, revenue activities, and ensures compliance with city policies and GASB/GAAP standards.

Hybrid work arrangements are available, with a mix of in-office and remote days. A Bachelor's in Accounting and at least three years of related experience are required, with strong leadership and communication skills expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or equivalent
• Three years of experience performing similar duties
• Equivalency: education and experience may be substituted for one another

Responsibilities

• Oversee departmentwide financial activities, reporting, and budget needs of CPED.
• Coordinate, supervise and manage financial expenditures and revenue activities to ensure compliance with city policies and applicable funding.
• Direct supervision of accounting staff across divisions.
• Reconcile accounts and oversee use of Tax Increment Financing funds.
• Review budget requests, amendments and finance plans; ensure funds appropriation accuracy.
• Prepare regular financial statements and reports and provide financial advice to management.
