Job summary

Richard Group in Chicago, IL seeks a seasoned Cost Estimator (All Trades/MEP) to lead competitive, multi-trade cost estimates for commercial, healthcare, industrial, and federal projects. With 10+ years of hands-on estimating across Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing (MEP), civil, structural, and specialty scopes, you will guide bids from document review to final submission.

You will collaborate with PMs, operations, and subs to resolve scope gaps and ensure complete, accurate estimates aligned

Qualifications

• 10-15+ years of all trade estimating experience.
• Experience bidding federal & private sector projects.
• Proficient in estimating software and Excel; must be self-sufficient."

Responsibilities

• Reviews project plans to develop scope of work, labor, and equipment costs.
• Initiates RFIs as needed for pricing.
• Prepares quantity takeoffs and pricing of scope.
• Assists with estimating preparation and ITB software.
• Reviews and understands all bid documents and material requirements.
• Prepares bid packages.
• Compares bids across subcontractors for pricing accuracy.
• Prepares estimates for multiple delivery systems.
• Reviews quotes with project management team.
• Understands FAR clauses and government contracting requirements.
