Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking an experienced multiplatform mobile engineer to help build a vehicle companion app for iOS and Android. You will work with Kotlin Multiplatform, Jetpack Compose, and SwiftUI to deliver scalable features from concept to production.

You will collaborate with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and Honda teams to shape the technical vision, lead architecture reviews, mentor engineers, and ensure quality and safety standards across global fleets.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience shipping customer-facing apps at scale.
• Proven ability to prototype, create, and maintain features end-to-end.
• Experience with asynchronous programming, multi-threading, DI, and reflection.
• Mentor engineers via code reviews and provide feedback.
• Collaborative team player with strong communication.

Responsibilities

• Develop multiplatform vehicle companion app for iOS and Android.
• Partner with product managers, designers, backend engineers, and peers across Honda.
• Engage in discussions and contribute ideas to product definitions and designs.
• Lead technical discussions, feature development, and architecture reviews.
• Define a technical vision and roadmap for the app with managers.
• Drive system design and architecture.
• Break down complex problems into simple development tasks.
• Build prototypes to validate requirements and test new ideas.
• Advocate for unit and integration testing best practices.
• Design APIs and SDKs with external teams.
• Lead observability of non-functional requirements for Honda and Acura drivers worldwide.
• Support engineering development lifecycle processes in a highly regulated and safety-oriented industry.
• Contribute to the architecture and technical vision for companion apps and backend services for next-generation Honda and Acura vehicles.
• Own product feature and quality outcomes while exploring new technologies and contributing beyond usual responsibilities
