American Trucking Associations seeks a Managing Editor Multiplatform in Washington, DC, to lead digital content strategy and operations for Transport Topics. You will oversee story selection, editing, and publication across platforms, ensuring timely, high-quality content while coordinating with editorial and marketing teams.

You will manage a team, supervise web editors, and drive performance in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on deadlines and professional presentation.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in journalism, communications, English, or a related field.
• Minimum of five years of experience in web publishing and editing.
• Supervisory experience overseeing web editors is desirable.
• Proficient in digital content creation, editing, and web publishing using Drupal and HTML.
• Familiar with Falcon, Adobe InCopy, and InDesign.

Responsibilities

• Manage ttnews.com homepage—select stories, placement, and featured duration.
• Edit stories with InCopy and publish on Drupal.
• Share stories on LinkedIn, Facebook, and X.
• Proofread print pages and approve content from managers.
• Monitor news sources and social media for relevant Transport Topics content.
• Create and manage a weekly signoff grid for print pages.
• Generate weekly assignments and updates for content teams.
• Collaborate with MIS and Marketing to monitor site performance and discuss placements.
• Provide training to staff as tools evolve.
• Work with Executive Editor and News Editor for cross-platform story flow.
• Troubleshoot technical, workflow, and style issues.
