Job summary

Gainesville & Alachua Transportation Planning Organization (GACTPO) seeks a professional transportation planner to conduct multimodal planning, monitor performance, and coordinate with federal, state, and local partners. You will assist in LRTP, TIP, UPWP, and related plans and engage in innovative projects to improve mobility for people and goods.

Qualifications

• Master's degree in planning, transportation planning, urban or related field, and one year of professional-level planning experience.
• Successful completion of all applicable background checks is required.

Responsibilities

• Assist in implementing and producing the TPO’s requirements, LRTP, TIP, UPWP, LOPP and related plans.
• Engage in corridor studies, complete streets projects, pedestrian and bicycle safety studies, and public outreach.
• Collaborate with partners and UF, FDOT MPO Liaison, RTS, and local agencies on transportation planning.
• Lead development of planning documents and performance measures, and report results.
• Support public engagement, attend meetings, and represent the TPO as directed by the Executive Director.
• Ensure compliance with federal/state requirements and seek funding opportunities for transportation improvements.
