Job summary

Metglas, Inc. is seeking an experienced MRO Buyer in Myrtle Beach, SC to oversee procurement of maintenance, repair, and operations materials for our amorphous steel ribbon facility. You will manage spares, obsolescence, and long-lead times to keep 24/7 casting and winding operations running smoothly.

The role requires strong negotiation, supplier management, and ERP/CMMS proficiency, with a focus on cost control and inventory optimization. This is a full-time position in a manufacturing setting.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or associate degree in SCM or engineering is highly preferred.
• 5+ years of MRO purchasing in heavy industry.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Experience with ERP/CMMS systems and Excel.

Responsibilities

• Source and purchase specialized MRO materials and spares.
• Manage obsolescence and substitution strategies.
• Process POs, track deliveries, and resolve delays.
• Analyze TCO and negotiate terms including MOQs.
• Maintain KPI tracking for OTD and cost variance.
