Job summary

Epic Games is seeking an experienced Mobile Platform Engineer to advance the Fortnite technology stack on Android and iOS. You will work with Unreal Engine tools and mobile hardware to design platform APIs, guide cross-platform development, and build robust platform support as Fortnite grows in the Android and iOS ecosystems.

You will collaborate with multiple Fortnite teams to tackle deep engineering challenges, optimize memory and load times, and push frame rates while maintaining power

Qualifications

• Strong programming background with C++ knowledge.
• Experience shipping games or real-time visualization systems; focus on low-level code and optimization.
• Experience developing for Android or iOS-based systems.
• Solid understanding of software engineering principles.
• Familiarity with a game engine and editor concepts.
• Experience with profiling and development tools on modern systems.
• Experience in large codebases with trade-offs for usability, performance, and power.
• Shipped Unreal Engine projects is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with Fortnite engineering and content teams to solve technical challenges.
• Implement and improve low-level systems interfacing with platform APIs (memory, file systems, input, graphics, etc.).
• Analyze and optimize engine performance, load times, and memory usage across platforms.
• Improve platform toolchains and deployment workflows for devices.
• Help extend and enhance the engine for future hardware.
