Job summary

Coinbase is hiring a Senior Software Engineer, Native Mobile to join the App Infra team within the Consumer & Business group. You will rewrite the retail mobile app from React Native to native Swift and Kotlin, using AI-assisted code generation to deliver fast, high-quality experiences for millions of customers.

You will own core app surfaces, contribute to architecture, and help define workflows and performance strategies across devices.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of iOS or Android mobile software engineering experience (Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android).
• Proficiency in Swift or Kotlin with working knowledge of the other.
• Experience with mobile CI/CD pipelines, build systems, and release processes.
• Uses generative AI responsibly, with human oversight to deliver production-quality outputs.
• Ability to drive performance and platform improvements across devices.

Responsibilities

• Own development of core app surfaces in Swift and Kotlin.
• Build within the AI-assisted code generation loop and validate architectures.
• Accelerate other frontend engineers by defining patterns and improving workflows.
• Partner with product teams during onboarding to review native PRs and resolve bottlenecks.
• Drive performance optimization across device tiers and ensure feature parity between codebases.
