Coinbase, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer, Mobile to own native architecture for Identity on iOS and Android. You will shape strategy between native and webview, influence performance, and drive secure identity flows across devices.

You will collaborate with backend, product, security, and fraud teams to deliver robust mobile experiences and mentor engineers. We expect 5+ years in mobile development, strong architecture sense, and a track record of delivering high-trust user journeys.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of native mobile software engineering in Swift/iOS or Kotlin/Android.
• Experience owning mobile architecture decisions for complex, multi-screen flows at scale.
• Deep understanding of mobile performance optimization across device tiers.
• Ability to drive native vs webview strategy with trade-offs for sensitive user flows.
• Experience partnering with backend platform, product, security, and fraud teams to ship integrated mobile experiences.
• Utilizes generative AI responsibly with human oversight to improve workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the native mobile architecture for Identity surfaces in Swift and Kotlin.
• Drive native vs webview strategy for authentication and identity verification.
• Build and optimize critical mobile flows like biometric authentication and document capture.
• Partner with backend, product, security, and fraud teams to integrate surfaces with APIs and risk signals.
• Lead technical design and code quality across the mobile Identity codebase, mentor engineers.
