Ideal candidates have 8+ years in software development with mobile focus, strong React Native experience, and familiarity with AWS services.

Job description

We're seeking a Senior Engineer to build innovative digital experiences that empower Financial Advisor Services to engage clients more effectively. In this role, you’ll design, develop, and scale native mobile applications that leverage modern cloud, AI, and data capabilities to deliver insights and productivity tools directly into the hands of users. You’ll collaborate closely with product, design, and engineering partners to create secure, high-performing solutions that drive meaningful business outcomes across FAS.

What You’ll Do

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance, scalable mobile application features.
• Partner with product managers, designers, engineers, and platform teams to deliver intuitive, high-quality mobile experiences.
• Continuously improve application performance, responsiveness, reliability, and maintainability.
• Translate stories into design & code. Develop well-engineered code and test artifacts backed by automated tests.
• Elevate code into the development, test, and production environments on schedule. Provide follow-up production support. Submit change control requests and documents.
• Provide subject matter expertise in software development methodology and development architecture standards. Mentor staff with less experience.
• Effectively communicate technical issues in a manner all can understand.
• Research and employ contemporary software development techniques to ensure quality and improve velocity of the team.
• Understand and comply with Information Technology and Information Security policies and procedures; verify that deliverables meet requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of eight years related work experience, with at least two years of software development experience.
• Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience; graduate degree preferred.
• Experience designing and developing cross-platform applications with React Native.
• Experience building cloud-native applications and services using AWS and serverless technologies.
• Experience integrating native iOS capabilities, Apple frameworks, and third-party SDKs within React Native applications.
• Advanced knowledge of JavaScript and TypeScript. Experience building maintainable, type-safe codebases.
• Ability to learn new technologies quickly and demonstrate a hands-on understanding.
• Strong understanding of design patterns, integration patterns/practice, data modeling principles and best practices
• A good track record of project delivery for large cross-team projects
• Strong communicationskills and the ability to connect with engineers, managers, PMs, customers
• Experience with Mobile/Web development frameworks, and micro-service architecture

Preferred Skills

• Demonstrated experience with software engineering fundamentals including object-oriented design, data structures, dependency injection, testable code, and algorithms
• Experience with Expo and modern React Native development practices.
