Job summary

Zoox is seeking a machine learning professional to apply ML to sensor data (LiDAR, radar, cameras) and to advance 3D simulation fidelity. The role sits at the intersection of ML and 3D simulation, improving realism of simulated sensors to enhance Zoox autonomy stack.

You will design, train, and validate ML models, collaborate on NeRF-based reconstruction integration, and mentor engineers while driving practical training-pipeline improvements. This is a on-site role in Foster City, CA.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of Technical Lead experience.
• 5+ years of ML modeling in Python with PyTorch or TensorFlow.
• Industry experience applying ML to sensor data (LiDAR, radar, cameras).
• Solid understanding of designing, tuning and validating ML training pipelines.

Responsibilities

• Design, train, and validate ML models to improve realism of simulated sensor data.
• Collaborate to integrate 3DGS and NeRF-based reconstruction with sensor simulation pipelines.
• Build and curate training datasets from real and simulated data, including GenAI augmentation.
• Define sensor realism metrics with engineering teams to close sim-to-real gaps.
• Mentor engineers and interns, establish best practices for training and deploying ML on Zoox sensor data.
