Job summary

Nearmap is seeking an experienced Senior ML/AI Software Engineer to design, build, and scale MLOps workflows and distributed systems. You will deploy microservices and orchestration using Kubernetes, with strong focus on reliability and observability.

You will collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers on LLM and generative AI deployments, implement CI/CD, and mentor junior engineers while upholding engineering best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
• 5+ years of professional experience in Machine Learning, MLOps, DevOps, or Software Engineering, focusing on scalable, reliable systems.
• Proficiency in Python and Linux with ability to design distributed systems.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain MLOps workflows, including CI/CD pipelines and production optimization.
• Develop microservices, queuing systems, APIs, and orchestration using Kubernetes.
• Implement observability with Prometheus, Grafana, and OpenTelemetry to ensure reliability and performance.
• Collaborate with data scientists and ML engineers on deploying LLMs and generative AI systems.
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers and promote a culture of collaboration and excellence.
