Job summary

TikTok is seeking a seasoned ML engineer for the San Jose area to advance e-commerce recommendations on TikTok Shop. You will work on large-scale live-streaming and short-video recommendations, building models and data pipelines to understand user interests and improve engagement.

The role requires strong ML background, deep learning experience, and proficiency in Python and C++. Collaborative, cross-functional work with researchers and engineers is essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor or above degree in Computer Science or related field; strong programming and problem-solving ability.

Responsibilities

• Participate in building large-scale (10 million to 100 million) e-commerce recommendation algorithms and systems in TikTok.
• Build long and short term user interest models and design algorithms to explore latent interests efficiently.
• Design, develop, evaluate and iterate on predictive models for candidate generation and ranking (CTR/CR) including real-time data pipelines and feature engineering.
• Design and build supporting/debugging tools as needed.
