Cooklist is hiring a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to build and operate models that decide meals, recipes, products, substitutions, and complete baskets. You will translate household context, nutrition, and constraints into decisions that guide personalized planning at scale.

This is a senior individual-contributor role with production ownership; you will own pipelines, inference, monitoring, and evaluation, partnering with founders and engineers to ship high-impact recommendations.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of ML engineering, applied science, or related field.
• Shipped a production recommendation or optimization system.
• Deep expertise in recommender systems, embeddings, or user modeling.
• Understanding of modern recommendation methods and decision-science basics.
• Proficient in Python and SQL; write maintainable production code.
• Experience with implicit-feedback problems and experimentation.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate Cooklist's multi-stage recommendation stack.
• Model household preferences and context for personalized plans.
• Optimize baskets balancing budget, nutrition, variety, and constraints.
• Take models to production with pipelines, monitoring, and rollout.
• Collaborate with founders and engineers to ship impactful features.
