Job summary

Dow Jones in the United States seeks a Senior Machine Learning Engineer to design and build the core systems behind our LLM applications, including orchestration, tooling, and evaluation harnesses for trustworthy production use. You will report to the Director, Data Science & Insights.

You will create composable tools, integrate MCP servers/clients, and lead architectural decisions while mentoring others to elevate team capabilities.

Qualifications

• 2+ years in software/ML engineering; production LLM experience a plus.
• Strong Python and LLM API experience.
• Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Snowflake, Vertex).
• Designing orchestration and workflow layers for AI features.
• Experience building agent harnesses, memory and tools.

Responsibilities

• Design and build orchestration, prompting, and workflow layers for production AI features.
• Create tooling and integrations, including retrieval servers/clients.
• Build evaluators, dashboards, and alerts for accuracy, latency, cost, and hallucination.
• Harden the platform for production scale: caching, reliability, incidents, rollbacks.
• Set architecture direction and mentor teammates.
