Job summary

Workday is seeking a Machine Learning Engineer to join the ML - Document Intelligence team, building the core platform for document parsing, entity extraction, and classification. You will advance generic document entity extraction and entity resolution using state-of-the-art AI/ML techniques.

You will collaborate with software engineers, product managers, and other ML teams, taking ownership of creative solutions and writing clean, scalable code.

Qualifications

• Deep technical ML capability with production-grade experience in NLP and recommender systems.
• Proven NLP/LLM product experience including RAG architectures and long-context LLM applications.
• 2+ years Python in modular library design and scalable systems.
• Advanced degree in a quantitative field or strong research portfolio.

Responsibilities

• Design and develop core Document Intelligence Platform features for parsing, entity extraction, and classification.
• Build and optimize scalable ML pipelines for preprocessing, training, and inference at high volume.
• Partner with software engineers, product managers, and other ML teams to deliver end-to-end solutions.
• Conduct EDA, inform feature engineering, and drive model improvements through experiments.
