Job summary

Waymo seeks a senior ML/engineering leader to design and deploy cutting-edge 4D world models and generative systems for simulation use cases. You will mentor engineers and collaborate with research teams across Waymo and Alphabet to translate state-of-the-art research into production-ready solutions.

The role requires a MS/PhD in CS/ML/Robotics, 5+ years of ML engineering experience, and strong Python; experience with Jax/Flax, PyTorch or TensorFlow is expected.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Computer Science, ML, Robotics or related field.
• 5+ years of experience in ML engineering and applied Deep Learning.
• Proven experience with large-scale generative models for video or VLMs.
• Deep expertise in 3D World Modeling or 3D computer vision.
• Familiarity with 3D reconstruction and rendering (e.g., 3D Gaussian Splatting).
• Strong Python skills and ML frameworks: Jax/Flax, PyTorch, TensorFlow.

Responsibilities

• Lead design, development and deployment of 4D world models and generative systems for simulation.
• Architect scalable ML pipelines for training, evaluating and deploying generative models.
• Build production-ready video generation techniques to create dynamic simulations.
• Apply Vision Language Models to enhance semantic understanding of simulations.
• Partner with research teams to translate state-of-the-art research into production.
• Mentor and guide other engineers on the team.
