Job summary

Amazon’s Neuron team seeks a Sr. ML Compiler Engineer in Seattle or Cupertino to design, implement, and scale a compiler for Trainium workloads. You will own features end-to-end, partner with ML teams, and mentor engineers while shipping production code.

You will contribute to pre-silicon design, publish research where relevant, and work closely with hardware teams to improve programmability and performance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience.
• 5+ years of programming with at least one software language.
• 5+ years of leading design or architecture of new and existing systems.
• Experience as a mentor, tech lead or leading an engineering team.

Responsibilities

• Design and build compiler features for the Neuron compilers across frontend, IR, optimization, and codegen.
• Own customer-critical features end to end: scope, design, production code, support.
• Partner with Amazon ML teams (PyTorch, JAX, internal models) as a hands-on technical contact and translate workloads into compiler requirements.
• Contribute to pre-silicon design by giving feedback before a chip is built and bringing new products to customers.
• Mentor engineers and raise the technical bar through reviews and publishing research.
