Job summary

General Motors seeks a Senior Engineer to join the AV Agentic Developer Engineer team within the AV Developer Productivity Org. You will help create a robust inner loop development experience for GM's AV developers, delivering impact through observability tooling and driving high ROI with minimal guidance.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production systems in the cloud.
• Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related field or equivalent work experience.
• Understanding of AI Engineering principles and concepts.
• Experience designing highly scalable, reliable, and maintainable services.
• Experience writing in Go or other production-scale languages.
• Understanding of Unix/Linux, SSH, and networking fundamentals.
• Ability to lead and influence others, both internal and external to the team.
• Principled reasoning, documentation, and communication of proposals with feedback.

Responsibilities

• Contribute code, review code, and design improvements for observability systems.
• Identify and address challenges to improve engineering observability.
• Partner with Software Engineering teams to align tools with use-cases.
• Build tools to collect observability signals from cloud systems and vehicle sensors.
• Evaluate new tools via PoCs and influence the technical roadmap.
• Promote software engineering best practices within the team and AV org.
• Mentor and grow engineers across the organization.
