Job summary

NR Consulting is seeking a self-directed electrical engineer in Knoxville, TN, to lead the full design cycle from schematic to implementation across complex mixed-signal systems.

This position requires a B.S.E.E. or higher, with at least 5 years of experience in analog and digital circuit design, strong lab skills, and proficiency in Altium Designer. You will work in a collaborative environment with mechanical and software engineers to innovate and support both new product development and existing systems.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in analog/digital circuit design.
• Strong hands-on experience with lab instrumentation and debugging techniques.
• Proficiency with Altium Designer and SPICE simulation tools.
• Familiarity with standard digital interfaces: I2C, SPI, UART, USB, Ethernet.
• Ability to manage and document work independently while contributing within a structured team.

Responsibilities

• Design, simulate, and test analog and digital circuits.
• Develop interface electronics for motion control and sensors.
• Capture schematics and drive multilayer PCB layout.
• Execute board bring-up, debugging, and verification testing.
• Provide design support for existing systems and legacy PCBs.
