Job summary

Whitman, Requardt & Associates, LLP in Baltimore, MD is seeking a Senior Mission Critical Electrical Engineer to lead high‑reliability electrical design for data centers and other mission critical environments onsite.

The ideal candidate will hold a Maryland PE, a ABET‑accredited electrical engineering degree, 16+ years of progressive experience, and deep expertise in power distribution, UPS systems, generators, SCADA, and 2N/N+1 topologies, with strong client and team leadership.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from an ABET accredited program is required.
• Licensed as a Professional Engineer in the state of Maryland required.
• 16+ years of relevant progressive experience including Lead Engineer on mission critical or data center projects.
• Design experience with UPS, generators, MV switchgear, and static transfer switches.
• SCADA systems and automated operations for critical equipment.
• Comply with NEC, IEEE, NFPA, Uptime Institute, ANSI/TIA-942.

Responsibilities

• Lead medium to large electrical design projects and direct junior engineers.
• Collaborate with clients, design teams, and contractors.
• Develop fee proposals and manage project budgets.
