Job summary

Valkyrie Enterprises is seeking a Senior Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer to lead analysis of future MDS architectures at Fort Belvoir, VA. You will develop and evaluate architecture concepts, run M&S tools, and produce briefs that inform decision making.

The ideal candidate has a STEM degree with 7+ years in missile defense or large DoD programs, strong results interpretation, and clear communication. Active clearance is preferred; domestic travel may be required.

Senior Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer

Contingent upon prime contractor approval

Purpose:

• Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Senior Missile Defense System Architecture Engineer in Fort Belvoir, VA.
• In this role you will get to lead or participate in analysis of future Missile Defense System (MDS) architectures and concepts, and modeling and simulation (M&S) tool development to support architecture assessment.

• Assess missile defense system capability gaps, challenges, needs, and opportunities against current and future threats to develop potential architecture solutions that mitigate gaps and/or improve performance.
• Assist in developing analysis plans, execute MDS simulation tools, post-process and assess analysis results, and prepare architecture analysis briefs/reports.
• Support modeling & simulation (M&S) efforts related to the above to tailor tools to specific analysis plans.

Qualifications:

• Must have a Bachelor's Degree in a STEM Field with at least 7+ years of experience in missile defense-related or other complex, large DoD program/project.
• Must have a solid understanding of the current MDS architecture and future concepts.
• Must have experience in modeling, assessment, and evaluation of future missile defense architectures.
• Must have strong skill in interpreting results and presenting findings clearly.
• Must have excellent ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing, as well as collaboration with others to achieve objectives.
• Must have strong time management skills and the ability to assess tasks based on their importance and urgency.

Desired Qualifications:

• Active TS/SCI Clearance, preferred.
• Experience with AFSIM or similar MDS simulation tools/frameworks, preferred.
• Background in IAMD/Cruise Missile Defense systems, preferred.
• Background or experience with space systems, preferred.
• Experience with the definition and use of advanced concepts and algorithms for the M&S of MDS architectures, preferred.

Security Requirements:

• Must have an Active Secret clearance and the ability maintain it and the ability to obtain a TS/SCI clearance.

Travel Requirements:

• If position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID. Physical Requirements:

• Remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods
