Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree minimum, preferably in mine engineering or geoscience.
• 10+ years’ experience leading mine technical teams in a senior leadership role.
• Robust and proven HSE record.
• Engaging and inclusive leadership skills.
• Knowledge of the key drivers in the mining industry and project management skills.
• Stakeholder management within an integrated operation.
• Ability to present projects and annual production updates to senior management.
• Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manages day-to-day and strategic direction of mine engineering including long-range and LOM planning, geology, hydrogeology, tailings and geotechnical functions.
• Creates an inclusive work environment and aligns team behaviors with Company values.
• Manages mine development projects to improve safety, optimize assets, ensure production plans and future expansion.
• Oversees mine design, economic evaluation, cost estimating, productivity forecasting, equipment selection, and production scheduling.
• Plans and supervises the work of professional engineers and technicians to accomplish mine planning scenarios and analysis.
• Reviews technical feasibility of proposed solutions and helps solve difficult technical problems.
• Optimizes deployment of the technical workforce as priorities change.
• Incorporates best practices in property evaluation, mine engineering design and scheduling.
• Ability to prepare clear communication and present projects and annual production updates to senior management.
