Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan's Bagdad, AZ operation is seeking a Mining Engineer to plan and perform complex mining duties, developing Life-of-Mine designs and coordinating long- and short-range planning to maximize NPV.

Qualifications

• Degree in Mining or Geological Engineering with required experience.
• Experience in planning, design and execution of mining projects.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to communicate clearly in writing and speech.

Responsibilities

• Develop mine plans from geological and geotechnical data to support planning and production goals.
• Advise on equipment selection, costs, manpower, safety, and technical aspects of operations.
• Prepare manpower, CAPEX, and OPEX to meet budgets and forecasts.
• Develop Life-of-Mine designs and ore reserves to optimize NPV.
• Mentor and train engineers in mine engineering practices and software.
• Manage contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
• Serve as project manager on large site construction or expansion projects.
