Job summary

Evonik is seeking a Maintenance Millwright/Mechanical Technician to perform routine maintenance and repairs on process equipment in an industrial plant environment. The role includes mentoring entry-level technicians and ensuring safety, quality, and uptime of rotating equipment.

Requires high-school education or GED with at least 5 years in industrial maintenance, master level Millwright/Mechanic craft experience, and proficiency with SAP.

Qualifications

• High-school education or GED with minimum of 5 years of maintenance experience.
• Master level experience and skill for the Millwright/Mechanic craft (NCCER/Ramsey or equivalent).
• Experience with rotating equipment such as pumps, agitators, valves, gearboxes, etc.
• Proficiency in precision milling and laser alignment tools.
• Welding and torch skills; precision measurement with calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
• Proficient with SAP and basic computer use; able to track costs and KPIs.

Responsibilities

• Understand and apply Industrial Safety requirements for the millwright/Mechanical Technician craft.
• Operate common millwright tools and maintain rotating equipment.
• Perform installation, troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance of mechanical equipment.
• Read and interpret equipment manuals, schematics, P&ID diagrams, and blueprints.
• Assist and mentor junior technicians in installation, repair and testing of equipment.
• Document repair activities and seek continuous improvement opportunities.
• Collaborate with Maintenance, Contractors and Area Engineers on work plans.
