Job summary

Muon Space in San Jose is seeking a Microwave Instrument Systems Engineer to lead development of microwave instruments for our satellite fleet. You will adapt existing instrument implementations for Muon hardware and optimize them for scalable production.

This foundational role emphasizes microwave instrument design, calibration, and close collaboration with partners to raise internal capabilities. The position is hybrid, with on-site work three days per week in our San Jose office.

Qualifications

• PhD or Master's degree in a relevant field with 3+ years of microwave instrumentation experience.
• Background in DSP implementation for microwave instruments.
• Experience with ground-based and/or on-orbit calibration of microwave instruments.
• Excellent communication, presentation, and coordination skills.
• Excited to work in a fast-paced environment.

• Own the instrument: understand, design, and refine core components of the systems
• Design for scale: make existing solutions and techniques affordable to build in volume
