Qualifications

• Four or more years of relevant work experience in a clinical laboratory as a Medical Lab Technologist or Clinical Lab Scientist.
• One or more years of supervisory experience within a laboratory setting.
• Experience with QC / QA / Regulatory requirements.
• Experience working at the bench in the supervisory department.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and oversee daily laboratory operations and work assignments.
• Provide on-site, on-call, or electronic support to testing personnel.
• Supervise personnel performing moderate and high complexity testing.
• Monitor test analyses and specimen examinations for analytic performance.
• Resolve technical problems and ensure corrective actions when systems deviate.
• Ensure patient test results are reported only after corrective action.
• Maintain procedures and quality control systems.
• Review quality improvement data and participate in problem resolutions.
• Implement new test systems and processes meeting regulatory requirements.
• Contribute to departmental budgeting and identify cost savings.
• Provide orientation and training to testing personnel.
• Annually evaluate performance of testing personnel (competency).
• Ensure timely submission of regulatory reporting and proficiency testing.
• Perform other duties as required.
