Job summary

August Bioservices, headquartered in Nashville, TN, seeks a Supervisor Microbiology to lead the microbiology laboratory across development and GMP environments. You will oversee testing, environmental monitoring, and aseptic process simulation, mentoring analysts and ensuring audit-ready operations.

The role reports to the Director of Quality Control and requires strong leadership, SOP knowledge, and FDA/ICH guidance familiarity to drive continuous improvement and regulatory compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in biology or related science required.
• 8-10 years pharmaceutical laboratory management experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee microbiology testing across raw materials, drug product, stability and related areas.
• Oversee environmental monitoring and aseptic process simulation programs.
• Lead, mentor analysts and drive continuous improvement in the lab.
• Ensure labs are compliant, audit-ready, and properly resourced.
• Support formulation, process development and scale-up activities.
• Review and approve laboratory data for accuracy and completeness.
• Lead cross-functional project teams and prepare CMC documentation.
• Identify and resolve issues impacting project deliverables.
