Job summary

GE Appliances, a Haier company, seeks a Senior Metrology Engineer in Louisville, KY to lead metrology and dimensional quality across NPI and production. You will partner with cross-functional teams to drive turnkey, sustainable measurement processes at launch and ensure ownership by manufacturing teams.

You will guide the Measurement System Alignment within iNPI, develop SIs for equipment qualification, and advance GD&T standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree or higher in Engineering.
• Experience in a manufacturing plant environment.
• Experience with manufacturing equipment and processes.
• Leadership and effective communication experience in defining, design, implementation, and troubleshooting of manufacturing processes.
• Self-starter and influencer – metric-driven and able to work with cross-functional teams & hourly workforce.
• Understanding of GEA technical drawings, including MBD/GD&T and linear dimensions.
• Strong project tracking and detailed planning skills.
• Computer literacy with Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and related tools.

Responsibilities

• Provide metrology and dimensional quality leadership throughout the NPI process from development to production launch.
• Partner with cross-functional teams to implement new parts, products, and processes that are turnkey, sustainable, and production-ready at launch.
• Ensure manufacturing teams can own measurement and quality processes at production launch.
• Lead the launch of new products/features with measurable COQ improvements vs. current production.
• Lead cross-functional efforts to integrate the Measurement System Alignment into the iNPI process.
• Develop, publish, and release draft Standard Instructions (SIs) for equipment qualification.
• Create and maintain GEA metrology standards and update iNPI and C-change checklists to strengthen measurement-system requirements.
• Lead metrology work-order meetings across GEA product lines to improve process effectiveness, responsiveness, and quality.
• Bridge Product Design and Manufacturing to resolve dimensional/measurement issues early.
• Provide technical leadership for equipment and process qualification and implementation.
• Collaborate with salaried and hourly staff to understand needs and align with business objectives.
• Apply metrology, dimensional quality, and process-improvement leadership to current production PCTO projects.
