Qualifications

• Two-year associate degree in electrical/electronic technology.
• Two years experience as a Meter Technician, Meter Electrician A, P&C Technician, or equivalent.
• Possess a valid state driver license.
• Must have safe work habits and adhere to all safety rules and practices of the Company.
• Acceptable written and verbal communications skills.
• Must be willing to work overtime as required by job responsibilities.
• Must acquire qualifications necessary to perform duties of the next higher classification in the line of progression, or vacate the current job classification.

Responsibilities

• Perform technical work supporting the planning, testing, and maintenance of AEP metering facilities.
• Functions as a team leader to resolve conflict and builds consensus.
• Develops and presents technical reports clearly, concisely, and effectively.
• Prepares cost estimates for non-routine work, i.e., special projects as assigned.
• Repairs moderately complex electronic instruments, controls, and equipment.
• Provides support in the daily operation of the repair shop facilities.
• Develops software programs related to meter services activities that are cost effective.
• Participates in the development of training material and provides training support for internal and external audiences.
• Performs duties in accordance with Company safety rules, regulations and practices.
