Job summary

The National Weather Service within NOAA seeks a Senior Meteorologist to lead hydrologic service product development for Honolulu, HI, and NSC. You will develop, issue and coordinate forecasts and warnings for floods, river stages, and water resources, serving the public and specialized users.

You will supervise professional staff, plan work assignments, and oversee training, ensuring product standards and timely dissemination during severe weather and shifting conditions.

Qualifications

• Senior meteorologist with leadership in hydrologic services.
• Experience issuing forecasts and warnings for water resources.
• Ability to develop and supervise forecast products.
• Experience managing staff and coordinating shift operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead and coordinate hydrologic service products for Honolulu, HI and NSC area.
• Develop, prepare and issue all warning, forecast and service products.
• Direct, plan and implement improvements to operational functions and product standards.
• Oversee staff training and provide technical/ administrative oversight.
