Qualifications

• Bachelors in Materials Science/Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years with aluminum alloys and metal-joining processes (welding, brazing, soldering, sintering).
• Master/PhD preferred for advanced roles.

Responsibilities

• Select and qualify materials for metallic hardware on satellites and ground systems.
• Develop properties data, allowables, and processing recommendations.
• Conduct root cause investigations using fractography, SEM-EDS, and microscopy.
• Develop and optimize metal joining processes used in production.
• Advise design teams on material selections and specs.
• Collaborate with suppliers on qualification and issue resolution.
