Job summary

Freeport-McMoRan's Climax Molybdenum operation near Leadville, Colorado seeks a metallurgical specialist to assist in studies, testing, and process optimization. The role supports safe production and compliance with Federal, State, and local regulations.

You will collaborate with the site management, review vendor contracts, and participate in safety programs. The position offers on-site housing allowance of $1,450 monthly and a competitive pay range of $87,500 to $120,000 per year.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's in Metallurgy, Chemistry, or related Engineering with required years of experience.
• Knowledge of metallurgical and processing analyses.
• Ability to research and analyze information of considerable difficulty.
• Commitment to safety and hazard awareness.
• Strong communication skills, both oral and written.

Responsibilities

• Assist metallurgical studies, development, testing, and analyses of designs and processes.
• Report metallurgical issues and recommend solutions to the Chief Metallurgist.
• Review and recommend new or enhanced metallurgical testing equipment or protocols.
• Contribute to metallurgical process improvements.
• Evaluate contracts with vendors for services and equipment.
