Job summary

SLR Consulting (Americas) seeks a Principal Metallurgist to lead or support mineral processing projects. You will apply data analysis to design and optimize processing plants, guide multidisciplinary teams, and deliver technical solutions for challenging challenges.

This role requires 15–20 years in mining, a degree in Extractive Metallurgy or Mineral Processing, and client-facing leadership. Based in Denver or Toronto with flexible work options, supporting growth and long-term impact.

Qualifications

• 15+ years in mining industry with demonstrated project leadership.
• University degree in Extractive Metallurgy or Mineral Processing.
• Familiar with NI 43-101, JORC, SAMREC and related reporting codes.
• Authorized to work in North America with strong client-facing skills.
• Proven ability to manage multiple projects and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Lead or support metallurgical projects focusing on mineral processing.
• Design metallurgical test programs, supervise tests, interpret results.
• Design and optimize processing plants and estimate operating costs.
• Perform due diligence, technical audits, and prepare reports for clients.
• Lead project teams and manage client relationships and communications.
• Contribute to PRE- FEAS studies and NI 43-101 reporting as required.
