Job description

Seeking an experienced Senior Metadata & Data Mapping Analyst to lead enterprise metadata management and business-driven source-to-target data mapping across complex banking and risk data ecosystems. The role supports regulatory compliance (including BCBS 239), data governance frameworks, and enterprise data transformation initiatives within a regulated financial services environment.

Roles and Responsibilities

Metadata & Data Mapping

  • Lead development and maintenance of business and technical metadata
  • Create and manage detailed source-to-target data mappings (STTM), including business definitions, transformation logic, aggregations, and derivations
  • Ensure alignment between business glossaries, logical data models, and physical data implementations
  • Support mappings across multiple source systems, data warehouses, and reporting layers

Data Governance & Regulatory Compliance

  • Support data governance frameworks (ownership, stewardship, data quality, lineage, controls)
  • Ensure compliance with BCBS 239 principles (accuracy, completeness, timeliness, traceability, adaptability)
  • Partner with Risk, Finance, and Compliance teams to support regulatory reporting and audit readiness
  • Maintain data standards, naming conventions, and governance artifacts

Stakeholder & Delivery Management

  • Act as a bridge between business and technology teams
  • Translate regulatory and business requirements into structured data artifactsSupport impact analysis, UAT, reconciliation, and data validation
  • Ensure high-quality documentation aligned with governance standards

Leadership & Operational Support

  • Contribute to RFPs and data governance proposals
  • Lead and mentor a small team of analysts (task planning, quality review, coordination)
  • Promote best practices and continuous improvement in metadata and data management
Required Qualifications
  • 7–10 years of experience in metadata management, data mapping, or data analysis within banking/financial services
  • Strong hands‑on experience in business-driven source-to-target data mapping
  • Deep understanding of data governance frameworks and BCBS 239 principles
  • Experience supporting risk, finance, or regulatory data programs
  • Strong stakeholder communication and documentation skills
Preferred Skills
  • Experience with metadata/governance tools (e.g., Collibra, Informatica, Alation, Ab Initio)
  • Strong SQL and data validation experience
  • Knowledge of data warehousing, ETL/ELT, and regulatory reporting environments.
