Job summary

PerkinElmer is looking for a Lead Automation Engineer, MES & Digital Systems, to provide expertise in design and implementation of digital systems across manufacturing facilities in the biotech and pharmaceutical industry. The successful candidate will have substantial experience in automation engineering along with strong skills in MES platforms and documentation. The role requires collaboration across multiple teams and may involve significant travel. This is a full-time position based in Raleigh, North Carolina.

Qualifications

• Minimum 9-12+ years in automation engineering within GMP life sciences.
• Proven ability to author and interpret URS/FRS/DS documentation.
• Hands-on experience supporting biologics and sterile manufacturing environments.

Responsibilities

• Develop system architectures and data flows for manufacturing.
• Lead creation and review of design documentation.
• Configure, program, and deploy Digital Systems.
• Serve as SME for troubleshooting and system optimization.

Skills

Expert-level experience with various MES platforms

Strong understanding of ISA-88 batch control

Advanced troubleshooting and problem solving

Strong communicator and influencer

Education

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering
