Job summary

Foundation Software is seeking a Senior Application Developer to drive design and delivery of cloud-native applications using a MERN stack on Google Cloud Platform. You will lead technical initiatives, mentor engineers, and collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, and stakeholders to deliver scalable solutions.

You will work with TypeScript, MongoDB, React, and Node.js, while leveraging Docker, Kubernetes, and modern observability practices to improve reliability and performance across the platform.

Qualifications

• 7+ years of software development experience.
• Proven experience leading software projects and influencing technical direction.
• Strong, current expertise with TypeScript.
• Experience with MongoDB, Express.js, React, Node.js, and GCP.
• Hands-on experience with dependency injection and containerized deployments (Docker, Kubernetes).
• Experience with authentication (JWT/OIDC) and observability tools (Sentry, OpenTelemetry).

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture decisions for cloud-native applications.
• Drive modernization and scalability improvements across services.
• Mentor developers through code reviews and best practices.
• Collaborate with product, QA, DevOps, architecture, and business teams.
• Tackle production issues using observability tooling and drive continuous improvement.
