Job summary

Jacent Strategic Merchandising is seeking a Senior Merchant to lead the full commercial lifecycle for the own-brand category portfolio in a retail/wholesale setting. You’ll identify market opportunities, brief new products, and drive inline programs to maximize sales and gross profit margins.

You will partner with cross-functional teams in sales, store operations, space and assortment, and inventory management to exceed company targets.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required.
Advanced Excel skills and strong retail math fluency.
Experience with private label or own-brand products preferred.

Responsibilities

Monitor category trends across retail channels and translate signals into product opportunities.
Collaborate with Product Development and Sourcing on new item creation; provide commercial feedback on packaging and retail readiness.
Own the clip strip assortment, pricing, and go-to-market alignment for the portfolio.
Partner with Sales to introduce new items and build retail account sell-in stories.
Develop and manage assortment & account strategies with cross-functional teams to optimize GM% and sales.
Drive pricing and financial management to grow margins across the portfolio.
