Job summary

The Scoular Company seeks a Senior Merchant in Organic Grains & Oilseeds to interpret markets, communicate market opinions, and take risk/reward positions. This role emphasizes building deep customer relationships with origin elevators and end users, mentoring other Merchants, and ensuring compliance with organic product regulations.

You will lead market analytics, logistics and execution, and customer relations, contributing to P&L planning and team development.

Qualifications

• 4+ years merchandising experience.
• College degree in business related field or equivalent experience.
• Proven critical thinking skills and ability to drive strategy forward.
• Demonstrated exceptional customer service skills and relationship building capability.
• Proven ability to perform in a fast-paced environment.
• Demonstrated aptitude in accounting and financial practices and procedures.
• Highly skilled in problem solving techniques

Responsibilities

• Market analytics: assess trends, lead indicators, and form market opinions.
• Logistics/execution: lead delivery planning and manage freight relationships.
• Customer relationships: recruit and maintain diverse customer base and handle settlements.
• P&L planning: assist in monthly/quarterly forecasts and position reporting.
• People development: coach Merchants and drive collaboration within the division.
