Job summary

Mortenson is seeking a Senior MEP Project Manager I to lead and manage Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing projects on medium to large programs, ensuring quality, timeliness, and safety. You will mentor the project team and develop strong customer relationships through excellent service.

This role requires a bachelor’s in a relevant field, eight years of construction management experience, and the ability to travel up to 100%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction, Civil, Architectural, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering or equivalent field experience.
• Minimum eight years construction management experience, preferably with a Mechanical or Electrical Contractor.
• Active listening and effective communication skills, open to diverse input and feedback.
• Ability to travel up to 100%.

• Manage overall project financial health, including projections, budgeting, and invoicing
• Oversee subcontractor and supplier selections, billings, and contract management
• Direct 3-D coordination and commissioning processes, ensuring conflict resolution and testing
• Lead project closeout activities, including manuals, model turnover, and training
• Supervise and develop Assistant Project Manager(s) and Project Engineer(s)
• Serve as main contact for owner, resolving site concerns and building relationships
• Manage change orders and obtain necessary approvals
• Ensure quality, risk, safety, and compliance throughout the project

The base pay range for this role is $144,300 - $216,500. (Actual range is higher for the following office locations: Denver, CO and Chicago, IL – 5%, Seattle, WA, and Portland, OR – 10%, Washington, D.C. – 12.5%).

Base pay is positioned within the range based on several factors including an individual’s knowledge, skills, and experience, with consideration given to internal equity. This position is eligible for Mortenson’s incentive plan.
