Job summary

Dallas Behavioral Healthcare Hospital is seeking a Mental Health Technician - Behavioral Specialist to provide direct patient care for patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders and to support the therapeutic milieu. You will lead peer training, help orient patients and staff, and participate in treatment planning and progress reporting.

Qualifications

• CPR certification and de-escalation training required.
• Minimum 2 years clinical experience in behavioral health or related field.
• At least 4 years as Mental Health Tech at Dallas Behavioral.
• Ability to de-escalate conflicts and provide peer leadership.
• Strong communication with patients, families, and staff.

Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care to patients with emotional or psychiatric disorders.
• Support therapeutic milieu and patient safety.
• Mentor and train new and current MHTs.
• Assist in treatment planning and progress reporting.
• Maintain documentation for patient care and unit operations.
• De-escalate conflicts and act as first line of leadership on the floor.
• Participate in maintaining the therapeutic milieu and level system.
