Job summary

Prime Healthcare is seeking a Senior Medicare-Medicaid Biller/Collector in California to handle billing and collections across multiple payer types, ensuring compliance and timely payment.

Responsibilities include gathering necessary information, following up with payers, resolving rejections, and managing claims through to closure. A strong background in hospital billing and Medicaid/Medicare rules is required.

Qualifications

• Minimum of three years hospital managed care/commercial collector experience.
• 2 years of recent hospital Medicare billing experience in an automated environment.
• Associates degree or equivalent work experience required.
• Knowledge of contract interpretation.
• Familiar with hospital billing requirements.
• Knowledge of out of state Medicaid billing guidelines.
• Knowledge of basic Medicaid/Medicare billing rules, regulations, and deadline.
• Working experience with all payer types including: commercial, governmental, Medicare, Medicaid, HMO, etc. and the ability to cross-over into different payers.

Responsibilities

• The Senior Medicare-Medicaid Biller/Collector is responsible for billing and collections, following payer guidelines & compliance regulations.
• Maintain deficiency lists and obtain missing documents from internal/external entities.
• Resolve claim rejections and package claims with attachments; proactive payer follow-up and securing payment.
