Job summary

Onward Search is seeking a Senior Medical Writer for a temporary, remote role. You will develop scientifically accurate communications for healthcare professionals across pharmaceutical brands and translate clinical data into engaging content while supporting scientific review and cross-functional collaboration.

Qualifications include an advanced scientific degree and 3–5+ years of medical writing experience in pharma or medical communications, with strong MLR/regulatory experience.

• Experience writing promotional and medical communications for healthcare professional audiences.

Responsibilities

• Develop scientifically accurate, strategically aligned content for healthcare professionals.
• Create and edit sales aids, websites, email campaigns, digital content, congress materials, and slide decks.
• Translate clinical data and safety information into clear communications.
• Conduct scientific fact-checking, reference verification, and quality reviews.
• Collaborate with medical, regulatory, legal, account, strategy, and creative teams on multiple projects.

Job description

We are hiring a Senior Medical Writer for our client, a medical communications agency, in a temporary, remote role. This position develops accurate, compliant communications for healthcare professionals across pharmaceutical brands. The writer translates clinical data into engaging content while supporting scientific review and cross-functional collaboration.

There is no application deadline for this role.

Senior Medical Writer Responsibilities:

• Develop scientifically accurate, strategically aligned content for healthcare professional audiences.
• Create and edit sales aids, websites, email campaigns, digital content, congress materials, and slide decks.
• Translate clinical data, efficacy outcomes, safety information, and disease education into clear communications.
• Conduct scientific fact-checking, reference verification, and quality reviews.
• Collaborate with medical, regulatory, legal, account, strategy, and creative teams across multiple projects.

Senior Medical Writer Qualifications:

• Advanced scientific degree required, such as a PhD, PharmD, MD, or equivalent.
• Three to five or more years of medical writing experience in a pharmaceutical, medical communications, or healthcare agency environment.
• Experience writing promotional and medical communications content for healthcare professional audiences.
• Strong experience supporting MLR and regulatory review processes in FDA-regulated environments.
• Ability to manage multiple brands, stakeholders, therapeutic areas, and deadlines in a fast-paced agency setting.
