Job summary

Sedgwick is seeking a Sr. Claims Specialist for Professional Liability focusing on medical malpractice in the New Jersey claims context.

The role requires analyzing complex claims, coordinating investigations, and managing costs with a strong emphasis on client service and timely resolutions. The ideal candidate will have extensive claims management experience, relevant licenses, and professional certifications, with a proven ability to negotiate and coordinate defense strategies within client

Qualifications

• 6 years of claims management experience or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
• Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university preferred.
• Licenses as required.
• Professional certification as applicable to line of business preferred.

Responsibilities

• Analyzes and processes complex medical malpractice claims by investigating and gathering information to determine exposure and resolving claims.
• Conducts or assigns full investigation and provides reports pertaining to new events, claims and legal actions.
• Calculates and assigns timely reserves; monitors reserve adequacy throughout claim life.
• Recommends settlement strategies and proposes structured settlements when necessary to maximize settlement.
• Coordinates legal defense by assigning attorneys, coordinating support for investigation, and reviewing attorney invoices.
