Job summary

Sentara Norfolk General Hospital in Norfolk, VA is seeking a Sr. Laboratory Scientist to join the Core Lab, working full days (6:45a-3:15p) on site.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science, is ASCP/AMT/AAB certified, and has at least 3 years of MLS/MLT experience. The position offers a competitive base pay ($42.50-$61.83 hourly) plus incentives and a generous sign-on bonus up to $20,000, plus comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in medical technology or Biology/Chemical Science (required).
• ASCP, AMT, or AAB certification (required).
• 3 years of MLS/MLT laboratory experience (required).

Responsibilities

• Perform laboratory testing and interpret results.
• Develop, maintain, and manage daily technical operations, including staff training and education, implementation of instrumentation, and accreditation readiness.
