Role Description

Responsible for the design, development, and implementation of medical image reconstruction, processing, visualization algorithms for medical imaging products. Optimize performance of algorithms for product platforms. Work in a cross‑disciplinary and cross‑functional team of engineers, clinical application specialists, product managers, manufacturing engineers, and field service engineers to design, develop, and support customer‑centric medical imaging products. Participate in customer engagement to collecting unmet user needs. Design and execute scientific studies to evaluate and benchmark technologies and publish scientific and clinical results.

Key duties and responsibilities, other duties may be assigned:
  • Design and optimize medical image reconstruction, processing, and visualization algorithms.
  • Experiment with machine learning and deep learning algorithms for denoising, artifact removal, and lesion detection and quantification.
  • Contribute to qualitative and quantitative assessment of image quality. Participate in all phases of the imaging software development process: requirements, design, implementation, verification, release, and field service support.
  • Work individually and as part of team of imaging engineers, software engineers, and system engineers in support of the entire R&D and the overall business.
  • Participate in clinical studies.
  • Update system documentation per product release.
Qualifications and Requirements:

Education
  • PhD/MSc in Computer Science, Medical Physics, Mathematics, Electrical Engineering, or other related discipline.
  • 3+ years of clinical or industrial experience in a medical imaging field.
  • Agile/SAFe experience preferred.
  • Proficient in project management.
Computer Skills
  • 3+ years of C/C++/python programming experience.
  • 3+ years of proficient with image reconstruction, pre-processing and artifact reduction.
  • Software development lifecycle, software architecture, object‑oriented design preferred.
  • Experience with machine learning, deep learning, computer vision preferred.
  • ISO, FDA and CMDR knowledge preferred.
  • Excellent verbal, written and computer‑based communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
  • Understanding of terminology and ability to share and communicate effectively within the group.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize tasks resulting in consistent productivity.
  • Ability to function within and support a team environment and build strong working relationships.
  • Dependable and punctual.
  • Ability to meet accuracy and productivity goals.
  • Good problem solving skills, ability to evaluate situation and prioritize factors in decision making.

Physical Requirements
  • Regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Frequently required to stand; walk; sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb or balance; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl and talk or hear.
  • Must be able to sit and/or drive for long periods of time when travelling.
  • Must be able to stand for long periods of time (8-15 hours) for multiple days.
  • Regularly exposed to wet or humid conditions (non‑weather); fumes or airborne particles; toxic or caustic chemicals; outdoor weather conditions; extreme cold (non‑weather) and extreme heat (non‑weather).
  • Interaction with x‑ray devices; for this reason strict safety and tracking programs are in place, requiring the utilization of dose monitoring equipment either full time or as necessitated by situation.
  • The noise level in the work environment is occasionally very loud.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
