Job summary

Stryker Group is seeking a Senior Extrusion Technician, R&D, to support the development of precision plastic tubing for medical devices. You will set up extrusion equipment, troubleshoot processes, and partner with engineers to meet new product requirements.

The role requires a solid extrusion background, good judgment, and the ability to maintain tight tolerances and high quality to support better patient outcomes. Based in Salt Lake City, the position is on-site with a competitive hourly wage.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of work experience in extrusion processes (preferably medical extrusion).
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and technical documents.
• Experience working with Lot History Records.
• Ability to lift 50 lbs. routinely; 75 lbs. occasionally.

Responsibilities

• Independently set up, operate, troubleshoot, and tear down extrusion systems, ensuring concentricity and tolerances.
• Collaborate with R&D engineers and technicians to optimize extrusion processes for new products.
• Monitor processes and perform inspections of tubing, tooling, resins, moisture, and packaging.
• Troubleshoot issues, perform root cause analysis, and develop process parameters to meet design requirements.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings and quality system documentation while maintaining cGMP compliance.
• Apply knowledge of polymer rheology, materials, tooling, and die calculations to support development.
• Work with minimal supervision and share best practices with the team.
